F Series - V-Grooves

Summa is not offering V-shaped bits. However specialized (bit) stores offer bits that are compatible with Summa routing systems (check your collet size -3,4 or 6mm , and maximum outer bit-diameter should not exceed 11mm ).

  • When using V-shaped  bits to achieve a folding line, a down offset should be used.
  • Also the Dynamic tool diameter compensation should be disabled to route on the line.
  • Normally, V-Grooves are combined with lines completely through the material. If your machine is equipped with an ADC (automatic Depht Control), bit changes in the job are possible. The machine will pauze the job and request to put another bit in the machine.  The HF router has a pneumatic collet for fast and easy bit changes.
  • Without ADC, two jobs need to be processed.  When doing print&cut the location of the print can be determined twice by reading the marks twice. However in blank material. The material should remain in the same position during the tool change. Also the origin should no change. In Axis control the origin X and Y values can read and set.
