The cutter is able to read the barcode printed below the job. The barcode format has to be formatted using the PostNet format. When using this workflow, the barcode functionality needs to be activated. If this function is not used, barcode functionality doesn't need to be activated. Also, make sure the alignment mode is not set to BARCODE (Reference the User Manual.)

On new cutters, the barcode functionality has to be activated. Activation is done by entering a code on the front panel of the cutter. The activation code is obtained by completing a form on the Summa Website. After the form has been submitted, the activation code is displayed and an email is sent.

Use the following procedure to activate the barcode functionality using the control panel on the cutter:

Determine the serial number of the cutter                                  

1. Power on the cutter (media not needed) and press the S2 Class Logo                                                                                                                                        

2. Note the serial number of the machine 

Registration

1. Go to Product Registration.

2. Complete the Form and Click Send

3. An activation code will be displayed

4. The activation code will also be sent via e-mail

Activation

1. Power on the cutter and press the Actions button.

2. Press Unlock OPOS Barcode

3. Enter the activation code by using the numeric keys

4. Press the Apply button

5. Press the below icon to return to the main menu.
