Roll Cutter - Vibration Noise (buzzing noise)

Modified on Tue, 02 Apr 2024 at 05:02 PM

On the video attached, you hear typical phenomena of Summa Roll Cutters.

It is making a resonating vibration noise.

This noise of the Y and/or X motor mostly happens when loading small or light media or if the machine is not moving, but the motors are active (active means you can not move by hand the head or drive drum (media transport grid rollers).

This can not harm the unit and is not a sign of a failure of the cutter.

The noise occurs when the machine is correcting positions between the encoder steps.
