Roll Cutter - OPOS Alignment Methods

Modified on Tue, 2 Jul at 10:22 PM

Contour cutting is made possible by the highly accurate Optical Positioning System (OPOS).

The OPOS sensor, which is mounted on the cutter head, registers printed squares that are placed around the graphic. Because of this registration process, OPOS can determine the exact position of the printed graphic. The sensor drops automatically while registering the marks and rises after completing a task.

The attached document details the different OPOS Alignment Methods. Special attention is given to bowing.

OPOS X: Compensation for repositioning, scaling, rotation - no bowing compensation.

OPOS XY: +Bowing compensation, measurement done 1x at front of printout.

OPOS XY2: +Bowing compensation, measurement done 1x at front of printout and 1x at rear of printout.
