Roll Cutter - Vibration Noise (buzzing noise)

Modified on Wed, 14 Sep 2022 at 12:46 PM

On the video attached you hear a typical phenomena of Summa Roll Cutters.

It is making a resonating vibration noise.

This noise of the Y and/or X motor happens most when loading small or light media or the machine is not moving but motors are active (active means you can not move by hand the head or drive drum (media transport grid rollers)).

This can not harm the unit or is not a sign of a failure of the cutter.

This is because the machine is correcting positions between encoder steps and results in such noise.
