In this case change your cutter Emulation language from HPGL to DMPL or reverse.
Summa WinPlot software does use DMPL cutter commands. When the cutter is set to HPGL the WinPlot will crash or give a communication error.
With Summa Cutter Control you can change the Emulation language:
On all new cutters you can set the emulation language to AUTO. This way the cutter will automatically switch:
