Introduction
To use the machine from a network, you could use a print server supporting the RAW protocol.
We have some customers using the Silex 4000 with good results.
In this case, the USB class of the cutter has to be configured to emulate a printer.
Machine setup - set USB Class
The machine USB class needs to be set to Printer UNI or Printer BIDI in order for the USB port to emulate a printer USB port. This option is usually used for sharing the cutter over a network using a print server, or to drive the machine from a Windows printer driver (Generic/Text only). Using one of those options, it is not possible to query information from the cutter, e.g. the software cannot read the media size from the cutter.
