There are two types of spindle motors:
- 4041-DC-S
- 5045-DC-CS
First check what type of motor you have before you setup the spindle collet.
- Mechanically the system you can recognise by the adaptor ring. The old type of spindle motor 4041 does not have and adaptor ring:
- Router type (1) is indicated on the label on the side of the spindle motor

Installing the collet
1. Initiate the bit change in Axis Control and flip the switch on the router module to apply compressed air to the Hf router.
2. Insert the collet together with the dummy bit and screw in by hand until the limit stop.
3. Use the included tightening tool to further tighten by hand (0.5Nm max)
4. Stop the compressed air by flipping the switch on the router module and switch the machine back online in Axis Control.

(different motor in the video but the clamp system is same)
Spindle motor 4041 DC-S
Installing the collet
In the system 4041 DC-S with collet C4, the collet set process is as follows:
- Apply compressed air
- Screw in the collet with inserted tool or c-lock pin
- Adjust the stroke by loosening the collet ½ turn
- Insert and tighten the set screw to prevent the collet from turning
- Insert the tool
- Stop compressed air supply
Attention: The collet is not protected against rotation/loosening if the set screw is not firmly tightened
Maintenance
- Clean the collet every week and insert it according to the set process.
- During yearly maintenance, replace the collet to ensure maximum clamping power.
